You might have been amazed by so many of the small actions and Dua’s that we have reviewed over our past few weeks: but there are so many more du’as that you can incorporate into your daily life routine, and their impact is impressive, let alone the reward.     For those of you who are living in a Muslim country and are able to hear the Adhan five times each day, there are 5 more opportunities availed to you each each day, and during the times you hear the Adhan (call to prayer), which earn you forgiveness of your sins. Shortcut # 9 – Dua after Adhaan Sa’d b. Abu Waqqas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If anyone says on hearing the Mu’adhdhin (the person who calls for prayer): I testify that there is no god but Allah alone. Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, (and that) I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger. and with Islam as Din (religion), his sins would be forgiven […]. — {Sahih Muslim, The Book of Prayer, Hadith Number 0749} This Hadith goes on to talk about the other variation in this Du’a, which does not have the words “And I” (Wa Anaa) before the dua from another narration. Here is the Dua below: “And I also bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone without any partners and I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is His Slave and Messenger. I am pleased with Allah as the Lord, with Muhammad as the Messenger and with Islam as the religion.” Wa ‘anaa ‘ash-hadu ‘an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa ‘anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasooluhu, radheetu billaahi Rabban, wa bi-Muhammadin Rasoolan wa bil’islaami deenan.   Let us practise saying this Du’a five times a day from now on and seize the opportune chance of having our sins forgiven five times each day inshaaAllah.
