The present is where you need to be present, as focused as you can, as productive as you can, and as vibrant as you should be.

Too much thinking of the past shall bring you no good, but a few regrets, either for bad happenings that took place in the past, or for good moments you wish to relive. Focus on your Present- think not of the past, and cling not to the future. This will help you employ all your thinking, energy, and capacity to serve your present and day to day planning. Similarly; clinging to the future in an overwhelmingly manner will take you form the present and instead engage you in wishful thinking of tomorrow which may never come, either captivating your mental and spiritual energy in aspirations you might not fulfill when the moment comes, or impose needless worries upon your present serenity. Do your best to fully live your present, for that equally fully living your life. Live, Work and Worship Allah as if it were your last day.
